Future May Bring More Female Poker Players
According to the recent statistic by Pokerbabes.com, only 4 percent of the professional poker players are women. In the past a woman doctor or lawyer was considered something that was not of the norm so it's only a matter of time when more women will join the game of poker.
The most famous poker female poker player is none other then Annie Duke, who is poker champ's Howard Lederer. Duke has won millions of dollars just by playing poker. She recently has wrote a book called "Annie Duke: How I raised, folded, bluffed, flirted, cursed and won millions at the World Series of Poker", she also works as a consultant for Ultimatebet.com and is now trying to develop a television sitcom for NBC. Actress Jennifer Tilly, girlfriend of professional poker player Phil Laak, is also another female poker sensation, winning two important female poker events: The World Poker Tour Ladies Night III and World Series' Ladies World Poker Championship.
Poker has become very popular in the female world, there is even a magazine out there called "Woman Poker Player". Pokerbabes.com and Linda Johnson, world series poker champion have predicted that woman poker players will rise to 35 percent in the next couple of years.
