UK online casino and poker site 32Red had Monday the purchase of the sports betting operation Bet Direct. Bet Direct was bought from Sportech Plc for an amount of 11 million euros on top of account liabilities.
Bet Direct is one of the biggest telephone and internet betting companies in the UK. The Liverpool based company specializes in sports betting via telephone, internet, interactive TV and mobile phones. It also has an online casino website, and an online poker room.
32Red Plc CEO, Ed Ware, said that purchasing Bet Direct is part of the company purpose to enlarge its customer database and to expand the company portfolio of betting products through different channels.
32Red operates an online casino and an online poker room, both licensed and regulated by Gibraltar. About 83 percent of their customers are coming from the UK. Since September 2005, 32Red is listed on the London Stock Exchanges Alternative Investment Market.
