Clubs New South Wales had offered the State government to pay over 1 billion dollars in taxes during the next 5 years.
A compromise deal on the subject of poker machine taxes was offered in a meeting between Clubs New South Wales and the State Government that took place yesterday morning. According to the deal offering, Clubs New South Wales would pay the state over 1 billion dollars in extra taxes during the next 5 years.
Clubs New South Wales had a plan to run a campaign against poker machine taxes before the upcoming election but decided to remove it in the meantime.
According to the Clubs NSW chairman Peter Newell, their compromise deal proposal got good responses from the Premier, who promised to consider it. According to Mr. Iemma, he will review the Clubs NSW offering but he cannot make any promises at this point.
