Harrahs Entertainment had announced that one of its plans to purchase from Pinnacle Entertainment the remaining property of Casino Magic Biloxi. The almost 18 acres of Casino Magic land are leased from third parties. The location is close to Grand Casino Biloxi, owned by Harrahs Entertainment.
Anthony Sanfilippo, president of Harrahs Central Division said that the company believes in the potential of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and that the investment will prove itself as profitable in the long run. Purchasing the Casino Magic location from Pinnacle would enable Harrahs to create a massive entertainment location, said Sanfilippo.
In addition to purchasing the Casino Magic location from Pinnacle, Harrahs also intends to re-open Grand Casino Biloxi during the up coming summer. The re-opened casino is planned to contain 500 hotel room, a 35,000-square-foot gambling hall, a steakhouse, a buffet and a 16,000-square-foot spa.
