Was the online casino ban in the USA a ploy to help destroy overseas casinos

Ever since President George Bush signed the unlawful Internet Gambling Act into law on Oct 13th, rumors have been all over the internet about a conspiracy between the American Government and the American land based Casinos.

The rumors have made such claims as that the American government banned online casinos, to drop the price of the stocks of the overseas casinos and to lessen the money that are making, then by eventually allowing the American casinos to get into the online gambling market and hoping that they will kill off most of the competition, then American casinos are making all the profits from online gambling and the American Government gets a nice chunk from the profits in the form of licensing fees and in tax revenue.

Until one of the Las Vegas casinos announced its intentions to open up an overseas based online casino, no one believed the rumors, now people are starting to believe.

As soon as the announcement was made the price of the stocks for the British online casinos, poker rooms and sportsbooks immediately crashed to a new all time low.

If this American casino is successful in bypassing the American laws many of the other casinos in America are sure to follow.
