According to a study sponsored by La Centers cardrooms, Cowlitz Indian Tribe casino would profit about 63 million dollars a year.
The tribe planned to develop a casino on a site near the Interstate 5-La Center junction. The study suggests an alternative location of the tribe casino, in a Lewis County site, where La Centers cardrooms would be protected from competition. Copies of the study were sent to Department of Interior officials who will eventually decide on the Cowlitz casino location.
The tribes plan was to build a casino on a 152-acre land near the La Center junction. The 510 million dollars casino would be developed along the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority of Connecticut, and will include a resort. The tribe officials estimate the planned casino revenue as 415 million dollars a year.
