Sea Bird II, Trained by Etienne Pollet Sea Bird II is one of the well known flat racing legends. He participated just in eight races and won in seven of them. He earned his reputation as one of the top flat racing legends for his unbelievably easily way of claiming the 1965 Derby. Later that year he destroyed a field in the Prix de lArc de Triomphe and retired after that race. Nijinsky, Trained by Vincent O'Brien Nijinsky was the last of the flat racing legends to gain the traditional Triple Crown. In addition, he won all the five horse races he participated when he was only two years old. Brigadier Gerard Trained by Major Dick Hern Brigadier Gerard was known for his talent in long flat races. He was a winner in 17 out of his 18 races, four of them as two years old. He also beat opponent Mill Reef in the 2,000 Guineas race in 1971. Later that year he also won the St James Palace Stakes, the Sussex Stakes, QEII Stakes and the Champion Stakes. Mill Reef Trained by Ian Balding Mill Reef is famous of being one of the best middle distance flat racing legends in the world. He came first in five of the six races he participated while he was only two years old. He came second in the 2,000 Guineas in 1971, and later rattled off the Derby, the Eclipse, the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and the Prix de lArc de Triomphe.
